The Second Annual Aunt Pearl Cookie Project

A Christmas Benefit
for the Bartlesville Lighthouse Mission Outreach Center

Much appreciation to our bakers, volunteers, sponsors, and patrons for supporting
The 2013 Aunt Pearl Cookie Project!
2013 GOAL!
20,500 Cookies!
What is the Aunt Pearl Cookie Project?
Joe Sears, native Bartian and co-creator of the nationally known Greater Tuna play series, organized this event as a fundraiser for the Lighthouse Mission Outreach Center, that feeds and shelters the homeless in the Bartlesville, Ok, vicinity.

This year Aunt Pearl is raising the 2012 goal of 17,000 donated cookies to 20,500, a 20% increase for 2013!

Aunt Pearl is is asking over 200 of Bartlesville area citizens and Facebook friends to put on their Betty Crocker baking shoes and bake six dozen holiday cookies of various shapes, sizes, flavors, traditional, fancy and simple
to be donated to The Aunt Pearl Cookie Project.

The 2013 theme is "Cookies for All Seasons" , so bakers are given a choice to include all holiday festive cookies in their donated cookies.

P
articipation in the Aunt Pearl Cookie Project, will insure that you have these outstanding, homemade cookies that will brighten your holiday sideboards, while supporting a good cause.

For a  donation at the door, the participant is given a  pastry box to cruise through the thousands of available donated cookies. Aunt Pearl says, "Don't you worry about all those  folks touchin' these cookies!"   (A volunteer, with  pastry gloves, will assist by adding the chosen cookies to the pastry box.)  Each participant will leave with a box full of freshly baked  holiday cookies!

At the event, a souvenier recipe booklet, featuring favorite cookie recipes will be given to participantst.  If you would like to contribute your family's favorite cookie recipe, Aunt Pearl would be more than happy to consider it!  We are currently receiving your recipes.  Click here to submit!

Take home two or three boxes of these cookies ! This is the perfect opportunity to surprise those special friends, coworkers, employees, care givers, and teachers.  Give as a thank you to service workers!

TIPS from AUNT PEARL:

Freezing Cookies

Decorating & Baking tips

"I want to remind all you bakers that we need extra volunteers this year so we don't run out of cookies too early, like last year."

Pearl reminises, "I'm reminded of Reverend Spikes in Tuna, when he advertised a special dinner his wife was putting together for raising money. It was a waffle and French toast dinner with "Arkansas Bacon" and wild green onion scrambled eggs, a dinner his French wife Effie always says was the only civilized meal she could offer as a fund raiser. Well, folks bought the pretentious menu thinking it was something they couldn't breathe tomorrow's air without and when the hordes showed up, Spikes had only made enough to appease his French cooking wife.  He lost out on hundreds of dollars that he could have made if only he had come through on the advertising."

" I hope you get my point!"

"We make our donated cookies in huge bunches since for a set priced donation  customers get to fill pastry boxes with cookies of their choice. It's fun, creative and God approved."

For our 1st Aunt Pearl Cookie Project, we had a host of Angel Unawares, Corporate Sponsors, Bakers, Volunteers and of course the participants, who made The 1st Aunt Pearl Cookie Project a great success. We are hoping to have you join us again in supporting the Lighthouse Mission for the 2nd Annual Aunt Pearl Cookie Project.
