The Third Annual Aunt Pearl Cookie Project

Thank you to our Director, Pam Zora, Aunt Pearl, our
sponsors, the many bakers and volunteers and of course our
patrons. Each of you had a hand in the success of this
What is the Aunt Pearl Cookie Project?
Joe Sears, native
Bartian and co-creator of the nationally
known Greater Tuna play series, organized
this event as a fundraiser for the
Lighthouse Mission Outreach Center, that
feeds and shelters the homeless in
the Bartlesville, Ok, vicinity.
Aunt Pearl is raising the 2013 goal
of 21,000 donated cookies to 24,150,
a 15% increase for 2014!
Aunt Pearl is asking over 200 of Bartlesville area
citizens and Facebook friends to put on their Betty Crocker
baking shoes and bake six dozen holiday
cookies of various shapes, sizes, flavors,
traditional, fancy and simple to be donated
to The Aunt Pearl Cookie Project.
Participation in the Aunt Pearl Cookie Project, will
insure that you have these outstanding,
homemade cookies that will brighten your
holiday sideboards, while supporting a good
For a donation at the
door, the participant is given a
pastry box to cruise through the thousands
of available donated cookies. Aunt Pearl
says, "Don't you worry about all those
folks touchin' these cookies!" (A
volunteer, with pastry gloves, will assist
by adding the chosen cookies to the pastry
box.) Each participant will leave with a
box full of freshly baked holiday
After the event, a souvenier recipe booklet,
featuring favorite cookie recipes will be
available for download on this site. If you would like
to contribute your family's favorite cookie
recipe, Aunt Pearl would be more than happy
to consider it!

Decorating & Baking tips
"I want to remind all you bakers that we
need extra volunteers this year so we don't run out of
cookies too early, like last year."
Pearl reminises, "I'm reminded of Reverend Spikes in
Tuna, when he advertised a special dinner his wife was
putting together for raising money. It was a waffle and
French toast dinner with "Arkansas Bacon" and wild green
onion scrambled eggs, a dinner his French wife Effie
always says was the only civilized meal she could offer
as a fund raiser. Well, folks bought the pretentious
menu thinking it was something they couldn't breathe
tomorrow's air without and when the hordes showed up,
Spikes had only made enough to appease his French
cooking wife. He lost out on hundreds of dollars that
he could have made if only he had come through on the

"We make our donated cookies in huge bunches since for a
set priced donation customers get to fill pastry boxes
with cookies of their choice. It's fun, creative and God

host of Angel Unawares, Corporate Sponsors, Bakers,
Volunteers and of course the participants, who made
these Aunt Pearl Cookie Project events a great success.
